Use the power of the soul to inspire your journey.

Each individual soul is on a journey to remember its true nature, to remember and reconnect with the Supreme Soul. .Day 6   We need to understand ourselves to make the journey. As within,so without.

Today,as I went about my daily activities,I used the discipline of chanting to enter my inner space more deeply. It's such a simple, joyful, inspiring  way of understanding myself and the power that can be generated.

We all carry tremendous power as  spiritual beings in the human experience -the power to create, to sustain, to remember, to recall, to dismantle, to transform. Through spiritual awakening, practice, discipline, attention and intention, we can begin to understand and use the powers of the soul to help us on the journey.

Since we are all connected in the Consciousness, any step we make towards our own spiritual growth and development is a step to helping each other and our world. Just one step at a time, that's all we need to do sincerely.

Begin to experience soul power to influence well-being

Nature creates  physical bodies as vehicles for our spiritual beings so that we can fulfill our life's purpose. The physical body is perishable; so  if we want to complete the journey in this lifetime, then we need to take better care of it. A deeper understanding of our spiritual being will help us to use our soul power to influence the physical  body to stay well, to stay healthy and to heal.

I felt  the message of  Day 5  spoke directly to me. It sounds like a clarion call to wake up my soul power. It means  that I have to make  a greater effort to truly understand what are the  powers in my soul  and learn to use  them powerfully and effectively  in this human life.

Having been challenged by illness for many years, I have come to realize that  well-being  is more than just at the physical level. It involves the more spiritual forces within. I feel that I am being given the opportunity of a lifetime for my soul to experience its intimate connection with the Supreme Power. The challenge is to remain connected in every moment, in every situation, in every thought, in every word, in every action.
I must be willing therefore  to explore my inner world diligently.

Have you been thinking of your journey and whether you want to complete it in this lifetime? Are you curious to know and experience the powers of your spiritual being?

Blessings on your journey,
Reena

Know that Consciousness is the link

Today's message,Day 4, reminded us that we all  have been created out of  the same infinite Source. We are made of the same substance as the Source. That substance is Consciousness. Out of Consciousness comes the energy for creation through the instrument of the Superego.

The Superego creates  an energy being of desire, mind, emotion and vitality. The energy being then    occupies a physical body created by Nature, another part of the Source. As energy beings come into physical bodies, the consciousness contracts, and so,connection with the Source becomes limited.

Everything that is happening is happening in the Source. We cannot understand the Source in all its fullness, but we can seek to understand ourselves. We need to hold on to the Consciousness link that exists between the energy being, the physical body and the Source. To experience the very Source from which we have come, we need to begin the journey by asking 'Who am I?'

Thus, the game of hide and seek begins........this is what I gathered from the message today.

Become  a conscious player in the game of life!

Understanding The Play of Creation

This morning I followed Day 3 of the retreat program via live streaming .....thanks to amazing  technology  which allows us  to connect  with  Sri Vasudeva and each other beyond the physical. I appreciated the talk very much which was given with so much enthusiasm and excitement.  As I listened, it seemed as if I was  enveloped  by a  wave of happy energy.

The story of how Creation unfolds from Pure Consciousness, which is at the core of our being, opens up a different perspective of  life. It makes life   a bit more interesting to explore, to want to know, to experience the play ...

I  also liked   the description of the human body as a highly complex machine with a visible anatomy and an invisible one. Many of us have some basic knowledge of the visible anatomy, but these questions, as posed by Sri Vasudeva, really hit home.
"But what about the invisible part that is even more powerful than the physical part? And more importantly, why was this human machine created in the first place? When machines are created, they are created for a task.  How many of us really consider that?"

A lot of  important questions to ponder, don't you think?

True well-being - Is this a possibility for you?

Life is so unpredictable, the human experience is filled with challenges everyday. How do we cope when we  are told that our life is threatened by disease?  Where do we find the strength to deal with daily challenges? Is there a place that is untouched by the drama of human existence? Is there a place of constant well-being, where we are free from disease, pain and suffering?

I believe in the possibility that such a place does exist, where anything is possible. It is a place from which we can be replenished, draw wisdom and be better prepared to meet any challenge in life.

Reflecting on today's talk on  TRUE WELLBEING made me realize how important it is to have a strong desire to want to know more and to experience total well-being at all levels.I feel encouraged and excited knowing that the more I try to understand and experience, the more grace I will attract.

Be open. Believe in the possibility.

Tapping into the transforming power of consciousness.

There is always an excitement when this time comes around; there is 'something special' in the air as the Blue Star centre hosts its 40 Days Meditation Retreat, from March 26 - May 4.Blue Star Trinidad and Tobago This observance is an invitation to share in a period of high spiritual energy, and it marks a very significant period in the Blue Star organization and the life of its founder, Sri Vasudeva.

I have found that when I take the time  to engage in spiritual activities, I always feel so uplifted. Therefore, I am determined to make the most of this 40 days, especially as the theme is SECRETS TO TRUE WELL-BEING: Tapping into the transforming power of consciousness.

Last night,my daughter and  I attended satsang; the chanting was so powerful , and together with meditation created   such a healing effect on my body. I was able to wake up to accompany my son for the  early morning program at 5.15 a.m.The talk for Day 1, given by Sri Vasudeva,  introduced the topic of True Wellbeing and this will be explored in the days to come.

What I was reminded of   this morning is that at the core of our being ,we exist in a source of infinite energy.  The challenge is to use the intellect to attune to the very source of our being; to tap into that space from which we can  be nourished and replenished  and thus create wellness at every level.
I look forward to the days ahead with the intention of learning how to live in a higher state of consciousness and manifest it in the human experience.

May we be blessed with grace to make this journey.

Take responsibilty for your own health and healing.

My heart reaches out today to all those who are challenged by illness, especially those who are at the San Fernando General Hospital, in Trinidad. It's hard to imagine how much more stress they are experiencing because   of overcrowding and understaffing -a fallout from the suspensions, pending investigation,  of five doctors and nurses.Check here for news report

One way we can all help is to  send our love and healing energy to all those involved so that there can be a quick resolution to the existing situation.

Our  health care system is in dire need of a more serious integrated approach for better  health and well-being. Too often,we hear or read of complaints of doctors and nurses providing medical services that are inadequate. On the other hand, they are quick to point out that they are hampered by lack of equipment/facilities/supplies/support staff....and the list can go on and on.

All  individuals should play a more active role in the maintenance of their health and in the  treatment of any illness. Our health is our responsibility. I believe the first step in creating better health is to recognize that we are multi-dimensional beings: body, mind and spirit. The more we learn about who we are, the better prepared we are to face health challenges.

With this in mind, I am going to participate in a Blue Star 40 days program with Sri Vasudeva, you can read more about it on the web site Meditation retreat. and also check out  my friend's blog .
You can join in and be a part of a healing journey.

A Happy,Healthy  Thursday

Life is the ultimate jigsaw puzzle!

I love building jigsaw puzzles; I started a new one on Saturday morning. It's 750 pieces, 38in by 11in,a  beautiful picture of songbirds sitting on a fence. The puzzle is spread out on the dining table, and as I work on it, I can hear a symphony of live birds coming from the nearby bushes and trees. They don't make sad sounds; they are always chirping a happy tune.

Anyway, back to puzzle-making......it's such a relaxing hobby for me, it helps  to quiet the mind and keep it  focused on building the picture.Sometimes I find myself chanting or singing as I sort out the pieces; and there is such a simple pleasure when the picture begins to take shape. One of the lessons I have learned in puzzle-making is to have patience; it takes a lot of time before I can admire the finished product.

Yesterday, my son asked what process I use in building the puzzle.I never thought about it before. Is there only one way or do others have some other strategy?  Usually, I look for the ends, and get the outline, then I look for similar colours and start building a particular scene such as the sky or in this case, the birds. It's helpful in watching how the mind works.
One of the reasons I love doing puzzles is that it reminds me of my mother;she was a champion puzzle-maker! She had a sharp eye for colour and shapes; and she was ever so happy when she got a puzzle as a gift. I have also noticed that my daughter is quite good at helping me, we completed  a 3000 piece together, so maybe, we have a gene for puzzle-making in the family.!

Putting the puzzle pieces together makes me think of how life is made up of different situations, events, circumstances; sometimes you don't see the immediate connection, but as time moves forward, a picture comes together. You begin to see and trust that your life is part of a larger picture;and just as every little puzzle piece is important, so too, every individual life is important in the grand scheme of things.

Does that make sense at all? Take time to listen to the birds; reflect and enjoy the  puzzle pieces of your life.

peace and love

Are you excited about your own journey?

Life is a journey, not a destination......I am sure you have heard or read this saying before.  I was reminded of it  on Saturday night as I joined  in  satsang. I am always amazed by the profound effect satsang has on me. I look forward to the evening knowing that I am going to be uplifted by focusing on a spiritual practice that has been a lifeline over the years. No matter what has happened during the day, or week, I can count on feeling joyful, contented and energised as I immerse myself in prayer, chanting and meditation.

I try to make time for spiritual activity on a daily basis as I seek to enjoy the journey. Over the years, I must say that  participating in satsang has been a great sustenance. It has helped me to understand how important it is to have a deeper connection with a Higher Power. I am  learning  to look at life from all angles and to appreciate the challenges that come my way as opportunity  for growth.

There are different paths we can follow to make that connection. You choose what resonates within you, what inspires you to be a better person, what offers an exciting perspective to life. Have you found such a path? If so, follow it with all your heart, and open yourself to the Grace that flows.

May we all find our path to true happiness.

Have a blessed day!

Begin each day with a grateful heart

It has been a quiet day here at home, I can hear the rustling sound of the wind moving through the trees, the different birds chirping to each other, and in the distance, a vehicle  making its way through the village.I love listening to the  sounds that nature makes interspersed with the occasional music of someone's radio. I feel grateful that I can tune into my senses that allow me to experience my outer world.

I have found that taking a little time to observe and enjoy nature brings much peace into my inner world. The mind becomes quiet, just silently appreciating what is around at that given moment.I think we all have that opportunity to experience this. Sometimes everyday life becomes so hectic that we may forget to appreciate the precious gifts we already have.
Take some time to be grateful for what you are blessed with .....make a list, and if you feel like it, share what makes you thankful.

Enjoy and be grateful

A time of introspection and healing

As the world continues to follow the latest developments about Japan, there has been an outpouring of concern and compassion for what this crisis means not only for the people of Japan but the entire world as well.  I wonder in what ways we can help that would be meaningful. Yes,we can follow all the latest news reports, talk and share with friends, make monetary donations and send relief aid, but is that really enough? Is there anything else that we can do?

We seem to have forgotten that Mother Earth is a  living, breathing, moving  Being that supports our human existence. Now is the time for serious introspection, to reconnect on a different level with the forces of nature to bring about the healing that is needed for ourselves and our world.

I believe that this traumatic disaster  is a call for awakening -spiritual awakening. This tragedy taking place on the world stage is an invitation to mankind to reflect on the meaning of life. Is there some  greater purpose to human existence? Are we truly happy with the way things are?  Are we willing to make small changes in our lives that can contribute to the welfare of all?

Think about it and perhaps we can inspire each other to become more responsible citizens of our world .
Enjoy your day.

Bless our world.

News of the Japan disaster continues to be mind boggling: earthquake, tsunami, and the threat of nuclear meltdown...Japan's coastline changed  and the Earth's axis shifted! Who knows what to expect in the days, weeks, months and years ahead? Is this some kind of wake up call for us to examine how we live our lives?

On Saturday morning I got news that a friend's husband had passed away; I paid her a visit on Sunday to offer sympathy and condolences. She seemed to be holding up well and talked  of all the things that had to be done for her husband's funeral. She has the support of her daughters, other members of family and neighbours.

As  I listened and watched how she tried to be brave, I was reminded of the funerals of my own family members, my mother,  my father and then one of  my sisters. Each one was a different scenario, but what helped me through all of them was knowing that only the body dies and believing  that the Spirit is eternal and forever.
..
It's amazing what strength you can draw from the power of Spirit, even when your whole life seems to be crumbling around you. I believe therefore that although the  people of Japan face tremendous challenges ahead in rebuilding their lives and their country, they  will find that inner strength to move forward and be an example to the world.

Let us join with prayer and meditation groups to send our love, light and healing energy to our world.

Cherish your loved ones and the life you have

I just can't imagine what the people and country of Japan are experiencing right now.My heart goes out to them - to every mother, father, child, pet, plant ....I offer prayers for the departed souls and those who have survived  this monumental disaster.. May they  be blessed with strength to face the challenges that the forces of nature have brought to them. May we lend our support through the power of our collective prayers and  meditation.

It's times like these that jolt you into realizing how fragile human life is and I wonder how prepared I am to leave this physical world. As I mentioned in yesterday's post, managing your emotions is so important , otherwise you can become derailed by them. Yes,I feel sadness about the situation, but recognize also that you have to surrender to a Higher Power.

So give thanks for life and let it be meaningful.

peace,love and light to all

Can I really do this?

Thanks for all the emails and encouraging comments about the first post. Having started a blog, I realize that there is much I need to  understand and learn about  settings, design, comments...... so for those  who had trouble posting a comment, it should be easier to do so now. It's a good thing that Renee has much more experience and so can point me in the right direction.

That being said, I also realize that I have taken on a commitment and that's a bit scary! I did not write anything yesterday and kept thinking about it.  The last thing I need right now is any kind of stress. Yet, as I sit now before the computer, I am excited to share a few words, so what does this mean? Is it okay to be scared and excited at the same time?

Maybe it is, just like in a movie.....life is an adventure, and any moment can be filled with mixed emotions. The challenge is to not to be carried away by the emotions, but to become the master of them  ......a lesson that I am learning all the time. That's what I want...."to be master of myself, and servant to the world" ...and I want it to be more than just repeating some words, inspired by someone else, I want it to be real for me.

So in the same way if I want this blog to continue, I have to commit to writing  regularly, then perhaps, I need to commit to a discipline that will help me to become "master of myself ". ....hmmm, I can see where this is leading. The Universe is very sneaky, eavesdropping on your conversations, and subtly making suggestions.

That's a lot to think about.....commitment and discipline....can I really do this?

Yes,of course, I can do it!

so look out for another post tomorrow,  who knows where this conversation is going!
have a fantastic day!

Meet me on the Cyber Bridge

Happy International Women's Day 2011!

Lots of activities all over the world to mark this day, the 100th anniversary of the observance / celebration. You can check here for more info.

I am happy to be writing my very first post on this blog page; I feel that I am participating/contributing in something bigger than myself.

It is almost a year since my daughter first started her blog and I remember how excited I was that she had made such a bold step to share her thoughts, ideas and feelings about her life; I wondered if I could do the same.

So here I am, after much discussion and encouragement, and still with some reservations, opening up myself to cyberspace, feeling like an adventurer, ready to explore uncharted territory of my inner world, believing that whatever unfolds in the writing will be blessed with Grace.

I dedicate this post to all women everywhere who find the courage to live their lives purposefully and I salute those who have gone before us who led by example in their seemingly ordinary everyday lives.

Thanks for taking the time to read, and perhaps, you may want to drop by again soon.
Have a blessed day!

p.s It's Carnival Tuesday in Trinidad and Tobago, for some, time for revelry and others, time for reflection.
